I’m from Eminem’s hometown him, and Kim would tan at my tanning salon in Warren Michigan around the time the Slim Shady record came out. Sometimes he would come alone, and sometimes with his bodyguard Byron. He was cool, but quiet. He’s came along way since those days. Almost any rapper out now gives him props on his music, and some of Even say he’s the best rapper there is. This man did a lot for rap, and ain’t going no where. I’m glad he’s calling the rap game out for what it is lately. Almost anyone can get signed. If you look at Em though in the beginning people didn’t take him serious cause of the blonde hair, and shit. But he showed all those people he really is a true talent!
Kamikaze is insane! The fact he dropped it unannounced was even better! Woke up and just felt like a kid on Christmas morning. I love the fact he let Slim go wild on it! Such a shame he didn’t officially release G.O.A.T with this one. Would fit perfectly here. The man is and always will be THE RAP GOD. Btw. I’ll never get all the hate around Relapse, that was killer, even compared to his other, “better” albums. People saying “it’s his worst album ever made” is like saying “Anne Hathaway is the ugliest woman in the room” because she’s standing there with Olivia Wilde and Keira Knightley. And just to be clear I don’t think Relapse is his worst one it’s just different to MM LP (1 and 2), still doesn’t make it bad, actually it doesn’t make it anything less than brilliant. Just in a different type of brilliance.
Em explains his confusion about Revival doing poorly perfectly here. He reminds us that his mind is still used to thinking about NEEDING to both be DIFFERENT but have bars to be the best. That’s why he made a more pop / rock type of rap album, he believed that since no one had really done something like that before it fit the DIFFERENT criteria and of course he was automatically gonna bring the BARS and there’s the second one. The awful lines in some songs was probably him trying to be funny by making some terrible jokes withing his bars like he’s always done in the past. Maybe if we heard Revival in 2000-2003 we’d bump that shit like crazy because that’s what Em still believes the world is like. He’s really speaking his mind on this one. It’s understandable why he’d be confused and make a “shit” project. It wasn’t to him. He says it himself that he was working on it everyday. He was ready to destroy the world with his new one-of-kind rap album but the new audience didn’t care much for it and some media individuals took their comments too far for no reason. Em. Is. The. G. O. A. T.
